Why do I need to verify my identity?
Securing and protecting your data as a Portbase customer is essential to us. In order to ensure security, we would like to verify the identity of your organisation’s Authorised Signatory. To do that, we will use your organisation’s registration with the Chamber of Commerce. This verification prevents other individuals from accessing and modifying information on behalf of your organisation.
How does the Identity Verification work?
As the authorised signatory, you will receive the invitation to verify your identity by e-mail. This e-mail will also contain a clear explanation of how identity verification works. This invitation will be sent if:
- You (or one of your employees) have applied to purchase services from Portbase and so become a Portbase customer. The applicant specifies the e-mail address of the authorised signatory.
- Your lead administrator has made a request to change your organisation’s information and your identity has not yet been verified. Your lead administrator specifies the e-mail address of the authorised signatory.
It is important that your own personal e-mail address is registered. Change requests that you need to approve will be sent to this e-mail address. Anyone with access to this e-mail can give this approval on behalf of your organisation.
CheckedID App
For purposes of identity verification, we use the CheckedID application, which you can download to your smartphone. Identity verification takes place on the basis of your passport or identity card. You will find more explanation in the e-mail inviting you to verify your identity and on the following page I have been asked to verify my identity using CheckedID | JanusID.
