Switching to IAMconnected

The log-in procedure for the Port Community System is about to change.
On the login screen at pcs.portbase.com, you may have already noticed that there are two choices: login via a PCS account or via IAMconnected.
With the advent of IAMconnected (the DigiD for port and logistics), you have 24/7 access to your own digital services and PCS services via a single gateway.
In time, everyone will switch to this new way of logging in, but you can already switch now.

Benefits to you

  • You can log in more safely to multiple digital services of the port logistics community via a single gateway.
  • Handle complete Identity & Access Management for employees and external users via IAMconnected

Easily switch to IAMconnected

In the tabs below, you can read how you can migrate easily.

With migration, we move all your PCS data, user roles, privileges and Portbase services to IAMconnected. It is a ‘removals’ service in which you carry out a number of small steps yourself and the rest is done automatically.

Frequently asked questions about IAMconnected

What does migrating to IAMconnected mean? What does switching involve?

Switching and migrating? What is actually the difference?
It’s basically the same thing. Switching is a simpler way of putting it, but migrating is closer to the reality.
Migration involves moving all your PCS data, user roles, privileges and Portbase Services to IAMconnected.
It is a ‘removals’ service in which you carry out a number of small steps yourself.
The rest then happens automatically.

You move your PCS account to IAMconnected with the following steps:

  • Click on the migrate button on the PCS dashboard.
  • Check your details
  • Follow the steps & complete the migration
  • Activate your new IAMconnected account
  • Set up Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Done!

From now on, use your IAMconnected account to log into the PCS.
All your data from the PCS has been moved.
After this last step, you will have automatic access to your Portbase services and you will be linked to the right organisation with the right user role.

I have forgotten my password or it has expired. How do I change my password?

If your password has expired, you will receive a message when you log in.

You will then be asked to take action immediately.
If you want to change your password, go through the following steps:

  • Go to pcs.portbase.com
  • Choose to log in via IAMconnected.
  • Click on ‘Need help logging in’.
  • Here you will see the ‘forgot password?’ option.
  • Fill in your username(not e-mail address), then click on the ‘reset via e-mail’ button.
  • After this you will receive a password reset e-mail containing one that is valid for three hours.

I have forgotten my username. What should I do?

If you have lost your username, you cannot retrieve it by e-mail.
However, you can still find the username in the activation e-mail for your IAMconnected account.
If you no longer have this e-mail, we ask you to contact the Service Desk (using your telephone number as specified in IAMconnected for identification purposes).
We will then only communicate your username, which you can use to change the password yourself.

On pcs.portbase.com I see two options for logging in. Which one should I choose?

If you have not yet switched to IAMconnected, log in via PCS.

If you have already switched, log in via IAMconnected.

I don’t whether if I have IAMconnected. How do I check this?

When logging in, choose IAMconnected and see if your username and password are saved
If so, you can probably log in via IAMconnected.
If this does not work, please check whether you have received an IAMconnected activation e-mail containing your username.
You can use your username to change your password and then log in with IAMconnected.
If you can no longer find the e-mail, please contact the Service Desk.

I have migrated to IAMconnected and I want to add other or new users. How can I do this?

Adding users will not change for the time being. You can add a new user in user management.
That person then gets a PCS account. An individual can always personally choose to migrate to IAMconnected.
Since in that case someone has been added to the PCS, the person in question automatically ends up at the right organisation in IAMconnected.***
You can find more information about user management on the ‘Starting in PCS’ page.
