The RCI (Fast Lane Ticket) is a special procedure for the ECT Delta and ECT Euromax terminals.
In a standard Hinterland Container Notification Road operation, you use a TAR time slot to gain access to the terminal. With RCI, this works differently: you do not need to reserve a time slot, but can drive directly onto the terminal with a Fast Lane Ticket.
By making a complete and correct pre-notification in the Hinterland Container Notification Road service, your driver no longer needs to go to building 5 at the ECT Delta terminal. This is expected to save approximately 15 minutes per visit. At the ECT Euromax terminal, a driver can also proceed more quickly.
RCI thus makes it possible to drive onto the terminal faster, without the need for a time slot (TAR). Below you can read how RCI compares to the standard Hinterland Container Notification Road procedure and how to use it.
Similarities and differences between TAR and RCI
Similarity
- RCI = Fast Lane Ticket to drive directly onto the terminal
Differences TAR (HPD2, APM2, RWG, RST) and RCI (ECT, Euromax)
- RCI = Not mandatory
- RCI = Not time-bound like a TAR/time slot
- RCI = has no maximum quota per time slot
- RCI = Remain On Truck container must be announced in advance
- RCI = Review at the gate on organisation (EAN)
Logging in and pre-notification
- Navigate to Hinterland Container Notification Road to pre-notify a handling at ECT.
- Then submit a pre-notification in the usual way via the web screens or via your own interface. See this article on how to do this.
Status information
Based on the provided ETA, you will immediately receive a TAR code from ECT.
You will also gain immediate insight into the status of the container through the status icons.
Combining containers within one visit
The (dis)connecting of containers is done in the usual way. Follow this guide when you want to handle multiple containers in one ECT/EMX visit.
Remain on Truck
ECT requires that containers remaining on the truck during the ECT visit — the so-called Remain on Truck containers — must be announced in advance in HCN.
This can be done in two ways:
- Automating the notification of the Remain on Truck by your software supplier.
- Manually adding the Remain on Truck container in HCN.
Follow the steps below to manually add the Remain on Truck container in HCN.
- Click on Actions to the right of the visit to ECT where you want to add a Remain on Truck container.
- Click on Add Remain on Truck container.
- Enter the container number of the container you want to add as Remain on Truck to the visit in the pop-up.
- Click on Save.
The container is now added as a Remain on Truck container to the visit to ECT.
The image below shows an example: Container added as Remain on Truck Container in Hinterland Container Notification Road.
Ensure that the correct ETAs are filled in due to the order of the visits.
Executing charter
When the RCI code is used at the gate, ECT also checks whether the EAN number of the organisation in the pre-notification matches the EAN number of the driver's cargo card.
EAN number
Note: if it concerns a driver with a cargo card from an employment agency, this employment agency must be entered as the executing charter in the pre-notification in HCN Road.
The field executing charter (inland operator) can be filled in via the HCN web screen.
This is also possible via an API system interface — contact your software supplier for this.
You can also change the executing charter after submitting the pre-notification.
Follow the steps below to edit a handling:
Click on Details to the right of the handling you want to edit.
Click on the Edit button at the top right of the dashboard. Here you can adjust the handling details (e.g., container number, acceptance reference, carrier, etc.).
