With the notification Import document accepted by terminal, the import documents are known to the terminal. This is one of the requirements for collecting the container. You can assume that, if the vessel has arrived according to schedule and has been discharged, you can collect the container.
With the notification Import document sent to terminal, the import documents have not yet been accepted by the terminal. The container has therefore not yet been released by the terminal for collection.
Submitting the import documents is one of the requirements for collecting a container.
Before a shipment can be collected:
- the container must be discharged
- released by the carrier
- not blocked by customs
When you search by container number, the Status for that container is shown along with the notification(s) about the import documents from the past two weeks. If more than one notification has been made in the past two weeks, these will also be visible. For each notification, the Date and time are shown. You can decide for yourself whether the (most recent) notification displayed matches your collection order.
