Ongoing T1 (transit) documents listed on the manifest in Cargo Declaration Import

The customs authority has written a procedure for reporting ongoing NCTS (T1) documents upon arrival by sea. The procedure requires two actions.

Action 1

On the import manifest, cargo with customs status T1 must be entered. In Cargo Declaration Import, this can be done in the B/L details. In the field Customs status, choose EU Customs Procedure T1.

Action 2

At the BL level in the field documents, the type of document (821) and the MRN of the relevant document must also be mentioned. In Cargo Declaration Import, you do this as follows:

  1. First, ensure that a B/L is created on the manifest. Save the data and return to the B/L overview.
  2. Then choose the correct B/L to go to the B/L details.
  3. In the B/L details screen, you will find the section B/L goods items at the bottom of the screen. Here, click on the arrow on the right for the intended goods item to go to the goods item details (screenshot 1).

  4. In this screen, you will find the section produced documents at the bottom (screenshot 2). Choose add document here with the following details. Then choose save to store the document details.

    1. Type:
      1. 820 for Customs Procedure T
      2. 821 for Customs Procedure T1
      3. 822 for Customs Procedure T1
    2. ID: the MRN number of the transit document.
    3. Description: you do not need to fill in this field.

Procedure via system interface

Are you working via a system interface? Then the following guideline applies for the IFTMCS message:

  1. You can add the transit document under the segment RFF+ACE related document number.
  2. The new code 821 has been added to the specifications.
  3. Download the latest message specifications. Read more about it in the article System interface (API, EDIFACT) with Cargo Declaration Import. Do you mention both the customs status T1 and the document type and MRN number? Then Customs will automatically clear the ATO.
