Delete or adjust the pre-notification of an import document in Notification Import Documentation

If you have accidentally pre-notified an incorrect document, you can submit a request to withdraw the document via the web screens of Notification Import Documentation (NID).

After the incorrect pre-notification has been removed, you can submit a new import document pre-notification (NID). This is not possible earlier.

Responsibility of the party submitting the import document (NID)

The organisation that submitted the NID is responsible for ensuring this takes place correctly and on time. Please also read the manual from Dutch Customs.

Diversion to another terminal

If you have applied an import procedure that allowed you to process an NID notification before discharge, it may be that a vessel diverts to another discharge terminal. At that point, you as the submitter are responsible for withdrawing the NID at the terminal.

Exception: Ferry operators

Ferry operators can receive and process withdrawal requests, just like all other connected terminals. However, ferry operators have the option, due to the cargo characteristics, to process duplicate NID notifications.

This means ferry operators can overwrite incorrect documents. For that reason, a withdrawal request will only be necessary incidentally within that cargo flow.
