Error codes in Hinterland Container Notification

When working with Hinterland Container Notification Road (HCN Road), you may receive various error codes. The error codes can appear in the form of an accepted pre-notification or a rejected pre-notification. Below you will find an overview of what these codes mean and what you can do.

Accepted pre-notification (accepted)

BCO – Before Cargo Opening

This is the earliest moment an export container may be delivered to the terminal (in many cases x number of days before arrival of the vessel).

BLA – Order (for line) not found, contact line operator

Contact the shipping line. You have probably selected a different shipping line than the one known to the terminal.

BLC – Blocked by Customs

The container has not yet been released by Customs and it is not possible to load or discharge it.

BLT – Blocked by Terminal

This is a general message indicating that the container cannot be loaded or discharged onto your truck, barge or train.
If no additional information is included in the response message, you can contact the terminal for clarification.

CDM – Customs Document Missing

The customs documents for the relevant container are not known in the terminal’s administration. Contact your forwarder or importer to resolve this block.

COA – Container Not Available

The container is not yet at the terminal and is therefore not available to be loaded.

COR – Container Not Released

No commercial release has yet been granted by the shipping line.

COR – PIN doesn’t match or expired, contact line operator

The release does not match or has expired. Please contact the shipping line about this.

ORN – Booking is unknown

The acceptance order has not been submitted by the shipping line or you have submitted an incorrect acceptance number.
If this error message occurs, review the acceptance number. If you are sure this number is correct, contact the shipping line. They can check whether the acceptance order has been sent to the terminal. If it turns out that all of the above is in order, it is also possible that the container number was entered incorrectly.

Rejected pre-notification (rejected)

CTV – Cancelled by terminal

The container has been cancelled by the terminal. There may be several underlying causes. This cause is provided in the free text with the error code. If the cause is not clear, contact the terminal.

DUP – Duplicate

If you have made a pre-notification and receive a DUP error message, this means that the terminal already has a pre-notification for this container number and booking number.
This other pre-notification may have been created by you or by another party. It is also possible that the container was pre-notified for a different modality.

OTH - Other

The container has been cancelled by the terminal. There may be several underlying causes. This cause is provided in the free text with the error code. If the cause is not clear, contact the terminal.
