Error codes in Hinterland Container Notification Road

When you work with Hinterland Container Notification Road (HCN Road), you may receive various error codes. Below you will find an overview of what these codes mean and what you can do.

BCO – Before Cargo Opening

This is the moment when an export container may be delivered to the terminal at the earliest (in many cases, a certain number of days before the arrival of the vessel).

BLA – Order (for line) not found, contact line operator

Contact the carrier. You have probably chosen a different carrier than the one known to the terminal.

BLC – Blocked by Customs

The container has not yet been released by customs and it is not possible to load or discharge it.

BLT – Blocked by Terminal

This is a general notification indicating that the container cannot be collected or delivered.
If there is no additional information in the response message, you can contact the terminal for clarification.

CDM – Customs Document Missing

When you receive the rejection from the terminal: CDM blockade, DD. you can review with your forwarder or importer whether the correct terminal has been used compared to what you have chosen.

COA – Container Not Available

The container is not yet at the terminal and is therefore not available to be loaded.

COR – Container Not Released

No commercial release has yet been granted by the carrier.

DUP – Duplicate

When you have made a pre-notification and you receive a DUP error message, it means that a pre-notification is already known with this container number and booking number at the terminal.
This other pre-notification may have been created by you or by another party. There is also the possibility that the container has been pre-notified for another modality.

NNG – Booking Unknown

The booking is unknown to the terminal.

ORN – Booking is unknown

The acceptance order has not been sent by the carrier or you have sent an incorrect acceptance number.
If this error message occurs, check the acceptance number. If you are sure that this number is correct, then contact the carrier. They can check whether the acceptance order has been sent to the terminal. If it turns out that the above matters are all in order, it is also possible that the container number has not been entered correctly.

ORN – Booking Number Unknown

The acceptance order has not been sent by the carrier or you have sent an incorrect acceptance number.
When this error message occurs, check the acceptance number. If you are sure that this number is correct, contact the carrier. They can check whether the acceptance order has been sent to the terminal. If it turns out that everything is in order, it may be that the container number has not been entered correctly in Portbase.

PIN doesn’t match or expired – contact line operator

The release does not match or has expired. Please contact the carrier for this.
