In the timeline of the notification you can see the status of your notification, with the most recent status at the top.
Unfortunately, there is diversity in how terminals are connected to the service Notification Import Documentation (NID). This is mainly due to technical challenges. Portbase maintains good contact with the terminals and is fully committed to uniformity and clear statuses. It may therefore happen that you receive a different status (or none) back from a terminal than you are used to at another terminal.
Status meanings
New (grey)
Your notification has been created. It still needs to be sent to the terminal.
Sent (blue)
Your notification has been sent to the terminal; the terminal will send a response back.
Sent, terminal does not send a response (green)
Your notification has been sent to a terminal that does not send a response back. The entire NID process is therefore complete. The inland operator will receive confirmation in its pre-notification to this terminal as to whether the NID notification has been accepted. This status is also visible in Cargo Controller Import.
Pending (blue)
The terminal has confirmed to receive the notification, but is still processing it. The next status will be either Approved or Rejected by terminal.
Approved (green)
Your notification has been accepted by the terminal; the import documentation has been successfully submitted.
Rejected by terminal (red)
Your notification has been rejected by the terminal. A terminal can reject a notification when it cannot be processed by the terminal. This may be, for example, because the document number does not match the selected document type. In that case, review your notification. If necessary, contact our Customer Service.
Failed (red)
The notification was not delivered to the terminal. This may indicate a disruption at the terminal or in the NID service. Check the status of the Portbase services via status.portbase.com. Contact our Customer Service if there is no clear reason for this status.
Withdrawing NID notification
Some terminals also support the withdrawal process for incorrectly submitted import documentation. More about this process and the meanings of the statuses for withdrawing can be found in the article Request to withdraw import document in Notification Import Documentation.
