With email notifications, you can stay informed about your shipments without logging in. The service Export Documentation Notification has two ways to send notifications.
Notifications for all document pre-notifications
- In the main screen of the Port Community System (PCS), under My profile choose notification settings
- In the ECS Notification (for Forwarders) section, you will find the available notifications for export shipments.
- Enter the email address next to the message you want to receive and select save at the bottom of the page.
Upon arrival at the terminal, Customs may indicate that the document/MRN is not accepted. The shipment is blocked and cannot be loaded. We therefore recommend enabling the following notifications so that you receive an email and can contact Customs:
- Export shipment error message received from Customs
- Diversion reject notification received from Customs
Notifications for specific document pre-notifications
For each document pre-notification, you can save an email address for notifications. You do this when creating a document pre-notification under Notification party. As soon as all equipment belonging to the document is at the terminal, you will receive the following notifications:
- Customs document successfully reported to Customs.
- Customs document has been rejected by Customs. Look up the error code in the service and determine how to resolve it. You can find the explanation in the article Customs error codes in export services
- Customs document requires an inspection. The agent works together with the terminal to ensure the cargo is inspected by Customs.
- Customs document released after inspection.
