A document pre-notification must always be made for equipment with cargo when the cargo is destined for Ireland. The document type depends on the route and the chosen customs procedure:
- Is the cargo going directly from the Netherlands to Ireland? In that case, you are transporting Union goods to another Union country. Use document type ICT (Union transaction).
- Will the cargo be discharged in the United Kingdom and then transported by truck to Ireland? The cargo will then enter a non-EU country. Consult your Customs forwarder to determine under which Customs procedure you should transport the cargo. It is common to transport the cargo under Customs transit from the Netherlands to Ireland. In this case, use document type TT1 (External Union transit procedure)
