What is a T2 declaration and what do I use it for?

T2 is a Transit Declaration that you need to create when transporting cargo via, among others, Switzerland to Italy. You discharge the T2 document at the Italian border in NCTS, after which the cargo can continue.

For groupage shipments or trailers, you use one sender and one recipient. Declarations can never have multiple recipients. You specify the different shipments in a groupage trailer in the BIS list attached to the declaration. The recipient party in the declaration is usually the Customs office for discharge.
