Pass on commercial release to (regular) partners in the Secure Chain

The following steps can only be carried out by a main administrator or user administrator.

You can add your logistics partner(s) to your organisation as Trusted cargo director(s). Using the explanation below, you can register fixed forwarders and in doing so partially automate the authorisation to these trusted parties.

This option applies to the chains in which you, as an organisation, have the role of Release-to Party and your chain partner is going to assign the role of cargo director (Cargo Director).

Do you also want to limit the choice to a fixed trusted group of inland operators when nominating an Inland Operators, then read the article Limit the Inland Operator list to fixed inland operators within the Secure Chain.

Registering chain partners

  1. Log in to Cargo Controller Import or Cargo Release Manager, go to user menu > Manage data access.
  2. Choose the Trusted cargo directors tab, where you can select your logistics partners. You can add multiple parties at the same time and you do this for the entire organisation.

Activation

If your chain partner tracks the same B/L in advance in Cargo Controller Import, it is then automatically linked as cargo director. Below you can see a schematic representation of how this works in practice.

Tip

Use this option for a limited number of organisations, as it can cause confusion if too many organisations can claim these automatic permissions. If multiple automatically authorised parties track the same B/L, this becomes an undesirable situation that you can monitor poorly. We advise using this option very sparingly and managing it actively. You can delete parties via the Delete button.
