I can’t select another inland operator to nominate in Hinterland Container Notification

If you cannot select another inland operator to nominate in HCN, it is because this inland operator is not known in the system. The inland operator must first register with Portbase and order one of the services HCN Road, Rail or Barge. This is how you join the Secure Chain. If this blocks the processing of the container, you have two options:

• use an inland operator that is known to Portbase, or
• have the shipping line share the PIN code with your client in the usual way.

At most terminals, a pre-notification by your inland operator is mandatory. Collecting the container using a PIN code will be phased out over time due to the risk of fraud.
