I cannot select another inland operator to nominate in Hinterland Container Notification

If you cannot select another inland operator to nominate in HCN, it is because this inland operator is not recognised in the system. The inland operator must first register with Portbase and order one of the services HCN Road, Rail or Barge. This is how you join the Secure Chain. If this blocks the processing of the container, you have two options:

• use an inland operator that is recognised by Portbase, or
• have the carrier share the PIN code with your client in the usual way.

At most terminals, pre-notification by your inland operator is mandatory. Collecting the container with a PIN code will eventually be phased out due to fraud sensitivity.
