Automatically inform inland operator about inspections at RIT in Inspection Portal

For cargo agents, an email notification can be activated in the service Inspection Portal: Customs physical review in external warehouse. This is essentially the same email as inspection announced, but only for physical reviews. Specifically, for Customs reviews in the external Customs warehouse (“Fyco – DCL”), providing the inland operator with a timely assignment for transport to the DCL can significantly reduce turnaround times.

This procedure only applies to physical reviews in the import process, known in the Inspection Portal as Fyco - DCL. This procedure does not apply to outgoing cargo or to inspections by other inspection authorities.

1. Coordinate transport assignment procedure
   As a cargo agent, you can have this email notification sent to your inland operator (e.g. Maasvlakte Transport). As soon as Customs announces a physical review, an email will immediately be sent to the inland operator. In consultation with your inland operator, you can treat these emails as a transport assignment, allowing the inland operator to schedule the container for transport straight away.
2. Set up email communication
   Only one user from your organisation needs to set up this step.
   1. Log in to the Port Community System
   2. In the main screen, select Notification management
   3. For Customs physical review in external warehouse, enter your inland operator’s email address.
   4. There is no save button. Click the Portbase logo in the top left to return to the main screen.

From now on, your inland operator will receive email notifications when your cargo is selected for a physical Customs review in the external warehouse.
