Set up MFA on a mobile phone without a computer or tablet

Setting up MFA is easiest if, in addition to your mobile, you also have access to a laptop, desktop, or a tablet. Setting up MFA using only a mobile phone is also possible, but is relatively complex. In that case, follow the steps below:

  1. After choosing a password the first time you login, click Authenticator app and then Set up.
  2. Select your phone’s device type and click next.
  3. Download the free Google Authenticator on your phone (if you do not yet have a suitable authenticator app on your phone). You can find it in the App Store on your phone.
  4. On the login screen you will see a QR code. Click Can’t scan? below the QR code.
  5. You will now see a Secret Key consisting of letters and numbers. Copy or note down this code somewhere. You will need to enter it in your Authenticator app in a moment.
  6. Open the Authenticator App on your mobile phone. Click the plus sign.
  7. Where you would normally scan the QR code, now click enter secret key or enter key manually (depending on your Authenticator app).
  8. In Account, enter IAMconnected.
  9. In Key, enter the Secret Key you noted down earlier. Then click next.
  10. Copy or remember the 6-digit code that you then see for the IAMconnected account.
  11. Go back to the IAMconnected page. Enter the 6-digit code and click verify. MFA is now enabled.

Every time you login, you first enter your username and password. After that, a screen will be shown: enter code. Enter the numeric code shown in your Authenticator App there. You can also copy and paste it from your Authenticator app.
