Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) is an additional mandatory security step when logging in to Portbase.
Using MFA
In the video below, we explain how MFA works with an Authenticator app. We do this in two steps:
- The one-time setup of MFA when creating your account
- Using MFA when logging in
Also available in Dutch or German.
To use MFA, you need a smartphone with an Authenticator App. Google Authenticator is often used for this. You can install it on your smartphone. In the article Supported authenticator applications for MFA, you will find all the applications that Portbase supports.
MFA without a Smartphone
If you do not have a smartphone or do not want to use your private smartphone, you can also use a security key. For instructions, see the article Setting up MFA with a security key.
