Introduction
Portbase offers various protocols to exchange messages between your internal system and the Port Community System (PCS). This article explains how to send and retrieve messages via the SMTP protocol.

Technical requirements
The SMTP protocol works via email. Messages can be sent as plain text or as an attachment to an email message. Use the SMTP address edi@pcs.portbase.com. If you want to test, you can use our customer test environment via SMTP address edi@kt.portbase.com.
Your email address must be registered with us to exchange messages, otherwise they will not be delivered. This applies to both the production and test environments. After you have successfully requested the service with system interface, our Integration Services department will contact you to set up the connection.
