On the main screen, you can track your cargo in 3 steps: Booking and preparation, Arrival at terminal and Departure. In this article we explain the 3 steps in status information, and at the bottom you will see an overview of all the different statuses per step. Cargo Controller Export works with premium data points: ETA and ETD vessel and cargo opening and closing. Read here for more information about premium data.
Step 1: Booking and preparation
If both Booking information and Pre-notification Export document are green, your export cargo is ready to be delivered to the terminal.
Some terminals also require a pre-notification via the service Hinterland Container Notification. Read the article Connected terminals and depots for Hinterland Container Notification for an overview of these terminals.
You can see the following data points here:
- Booking information: here you can see whether the terminal expects your booking. The terminal informs Portbase whether it expects the booking number.
- Difference between booking unknown at terminal colour grey vs yellow. Grey: the document pre-notification has not been done. Yellow: the document pre-notification has been done, but no terminal has requested the booking, so the document pre-notification has not yet been sent to a terminal.
- Pre-notification Export document: information on whether the pre-notification has been made and whether it has been sent to the terminal.
Step 2: Arrival at terminal
In this step you can see whether the cargo has been receive on the terminal, gate-in sent by terminal. After the gate-in, Customs is informed for export and transit cargo. Whether your Customs document has been approved can be found in this step, together with any inspection notification. You can see the following data points here:
- Gate-in: before the equipment has arrived at the terminal, cargo opening and closing can be found here. Read here for more information about the premium data point cargo opening and closing.
Upon receipt of an equipment, the terminal sends a gate-in to Portbase.
Customs approval of export document: If all equipment related to the document receive, Customs is informed for export and transit documents. This shows whether the cargo is cleared from a Customs perspective to be loaded onto the vessel. - Customs inspection: information about any review notification from Customs. The type review can also be found.
Step 3: Departure
Information about the arrival and departure of the vessel is shown here. In addition, you can find information on whether the cargo is on the load list of the agent. After vessel departure, you can see whether the export manifest has been sent. You can see the following data points here:
- Vessel arrival and vessel departure: the expected arrival and departure time is a premium data point. Read here for more information about the premium data point. If there is no permission to share terminal information, the information from the agent will be available. ATA and ATD vessel are always available.
- Loading onto vessel: information on whether the cargo is on the load list and has ultimately been loaded. We often see that information about the load list becomes available shortly before or after vessel departure.
