Document type FWV (Fiat wegvoering / customs release) is only intended for specific goods flows that additionally require explicit Customs permission to leave the terminal. The shipment therefore remains blocked until Customs grants this permission.
Portbase observes that FWV is regularly used for pre-notifying transit documents from the United Kingdom or Ireland. This is not correct and results in your shipment remaining blocked at the terminal.
For transit documents drawn up in Ireland or the United Kingdom, the carrier makes a NID notification. Read more about this in the article Pre-notifying transit documents from the UK in Notification Import Documentation.
Recover an incorrect notification with FWV
If you have inadvertently pre-notified the document type FWV, contact the terminal to correct this document notification. Where possible, use the withdraw notification button in the detail screen of the NID notification. How?
