View the inland operator’s pre-notification in Cargo Controller Import

By submitting the commercial release within Cargo Controller Import, you can also obtain information in Extended B/L tracking about the pickup moment of your cargo.

If an inland operator has been nominated within the Secure Chain, we share back, anonymously, what the terminal’s response is to the pre-notifications of the inland operator. Only within Cargo Controller Import do we share back to all connected parties the information that the inland operator can also see.

You will see the same status information at the same time as the inland operator: whether the cargo can be picked up and at what moment and with which modality the inland operator has planned this.

This saves time because you immediately see the same status and, where possible, can take action if this is not an accepted pre-notification.

The pre-notification is not accepted—what now?

There are often logical explanations why a pre-notification is rejected in a certain timeline by the terminal. The most basic reason is when the container has not yet been discharged. The most exceptional is when the terminal rejects the container due to damage and therefore cannot let it enter free circulation.

For all rejections, Cargo Controller Import shows a detailed feedback message that the terminal has shared with the inland operator. Click the all errors link.

A terminal assesses, based on 4 components, whether cargo may leave the terminal. For all scenarios they identify, they return a status code.

The status code contains a short explanation of the scenario and where the action lies to resolve it. In this knowledge articles we share some insights on this.

Also available via the Cargo Controller Import API

Read here more about processing the pre-notification status via the Cargo Controller Import API system interface. Retrieve operational information directly into your own systems.

Is the status code unclear?

Portbase is actively working to ensure that these status codes and the context are uniform across the port. Share this information with us via our Customer Service department. We will contact the terminal(s) to improve this.
