In this article we guide you step by step through what you do as an employee of a terminal in the web screens of Notification Import Documentation (NID).
Submitted documents per equipment are called a notification.
Role allocation within the service
Within the NID service, the following roles apply:
- Submitter, the organisation that has the rights to submit import documentation to a terminal.
- Terminal, recipient of import documentation (connected via EDI or CTS).
- Policy Manager, the administrator of the Policy Manager who issues rights to submitters for terminals. This role belongs to the Sales department of Portbase.

As an employee of terminals, within PCS you need access to the service Notification Import Documentation 2.0 Terminal. This way, as a user you obtain the 'terminal' role and get access to the web screens. Ask your user administrator or main administrator of your organisation to grant this access. Pre-notifying import documentation
All terminals are connected by default via EDI. Portbase forwards all pre-notifications of import documentation to terminals via this connection. Want to know more about this connection? Read the article Create a system interface with Notification Import Documentation.
Handling a withdrawal request for a pre-notified document
There is a quick filter in the overview screen in which you can see all withdrawal requests for your terminal. In the screenshot below you can see an example.
If the submitter accidentally pre-notified an incorrect document, the submitter is required to submit a withdrawal request via the NID service.

Finding a processed withdrawal request
There is another quick filter in the overview screen in which you can see all processed withdrawal requests for your terminal. In the screenshot below you can see an example.
Rejected withdrawal requests will have consequences for the relevant submitter of the document and the affected cargo.

Granting access to your terminal or a specific document type
An organisation needs rights to be able to send import documents to a terminal as a submitter. If an organisation does not have those rights, read the article I cannot select a terminal in Notification Import Documentation.
Does my terminal send an acceptance message or not?
Not all terminals send an acceptance message to the submitter. This often creates confusion among submitters. Check in this overview whether your terminal sends an acceptance message (also known as the NID return message).
