You can only apply this article once you have received a commercial release.
As the receiver of the release, you have the role release-to party (and you therefore also receive the rights of cargo director). The My releases overview only shows the B/Ls for which you are the release-to party.
In the All cargo overview you see all cargo, including the cargo for which you have been authorised by your principal and/or for which you are the cargo director.
Nominate inland operator
Follow these steps:
-
Click the Secure Chain status of your container. You will then see your role and your rights; based on this, Cargo Controller Import shows which actions you are allowed to perform.
- Click Nominate Inland Operator. A new screen opens.
-
Enter the organisation name of your inland operator; it will be shown in alphabetical order. If the name exists in multiple versions, you can use the location and/or the unique EAN number of your inland operator as additional identification. This list shows all inland operators registered with us. You can reduce this list by enabling Trusted Inland Operators; this feature is a so-called white list that limits the selection options to that list. Read more about this in the article Limit the inland operator list to fixed inland operators within the Secure Chain
- Click Nominate. In the screen overview, the Secure Chain status has now been updated and shows a green colour.
You can track a B/L and already nominate the inland operator, without the commercial release having been sent. Read about this in the article Nominate without the commercial release within the Secure Chain.
If your inland operator is not active in PCS with Hinterland Container Notification, then it will not be visible in this list.
Nomination not processed — what now?
Nominating an inland operator takes place within the service Cargo Controller Import and Cargo Release Manager. From these services, the service Hinterland Container Notification is controlled, where your inland operator is active.
In certain scenarios, sending a nomination to the service Hinterland Container Notification cannot be handled (immediately). For that reason, we show more details about this in the container status screen:
Withdraw inland operator nomination
While the nomination is active, you can withdraw it at any time, as long as the container has not yet been collected from the terminal. Each chain party can withdraw the authorisation or nomination from the next chain partners. You can read how to do this in the article Withdraw commercial release within the Secure Chain.
Timeline
In the B/L timeline you can view all events. Here you can also see, at user level, who performed which action.
Authorise cargo director
As the receiver of the release, you have the role release-to party and you therefore also receive the rights of cargo director. All B/Ls for which you are the receiver are shown in the My releases overview.
Authorisation can only take place with parties that are active within either Cargo Controller Import or Cargo Release Manager. The authorised party receives the role of cargo director.
You can only authorise once you are in possession of the commercial release, not before.
Follow these steps:
-
Click the Secure Chain status of your container. You will then see your role and your rights; based on this, Cargo Controller Import shows which actions you are allowed to perform.
- Click Assign someone else as director. A new screen opens.
- Type the organisation name; it will be shown in alphabetical order. If the name exists in multiple versions, you can use the location as additional identification. This list shows all companies registered with us. You can reduce this list by enabling Trusted cargo directors; this feature is a so-called white list that limits the selection options to that list. Read more about this in the article Limit the cargo directors list to trusted partners within the Secure Chain.
-
Click Transfer. In the screen overview, the Secure Chain status has now been updated and shows a green colour.
If your partner is not active in PCS with Cargo Controller Import or Cargo Release Manager, then it will not be visible in this list.
Withdraw authorisation / commercial release
Within the Secure Chain, a principal can always withdraw the release and pass it on to another party again. It is also possible that the carrier withdraws the entire release. You can do this at any time, as long as the container has not been collected from the terminal. Read everything about this in the article Withdraw commercial release within the Secure Chain.
