Withdraw a Commercial Release within the Secure Chain

Within the Secure Chain, a principal can always withdraw the release again and pass it on to another party. It may also be the case that the carrier withdraws the entire release.

A withdrawn release means that all parties behind it have become redundant for the Secure Chain. The data they had access to disappears, but it has been visible during the period in which they were part of the Secure Chain. If you withdraw the release, you are solely responsible for the further processing of the release.

Withdrawing the entire release

It may be that a carrier registered the B/L incorrectly or withdraws the release for other reasons. The Secure Chain then lapses. The carrier will contact you and provide you with a new release.

Withdrawing an inland operator

You want to change inland operator and you are the cargo director who passed this on earlier. You must first withdraw the nomination. Follow the next steps.

  1. Go to the container (or B/L) for which you want to withdraw the nomination and click the Secure Chain status icon.
  2. Click the action (right) Change inland operator (see the image below)

Secure Chain status, the status on the left and the options for the user on the right.
  3. You can then click the Withdraw inland operator button at the top right. Or you can immediately choose another inland operator by selecting it. Then click the Nominate inland operator button. Below you can see the screen where you perform these actions.

Nominate screen, enter the name of the inland operator
  4. The chain is broken and the nomination withdrawn.

Withdrawing the cargo director

You want to change forwarder and you have already passed this release on to a party earlier. You now want to appoint another cargo director or nominate an inland operator yourself. Follow the next steps.

  1. Go to the container (or B/L) for which you want to withdraw the cargo director role and click the Secure Chain status icon.
  2. On the right, click the option Retrieve director rights, as shown in the screenshot below.

The options in the right-hand part of the Secure Chain status screen are limited to 'retrieve'
  3. You can then click the Retrieve button at the top right to retrieve the director rights. See the screenshot below for what this looks like.

Click 'Retrieve' and the cargo director role is returned to your organisation.
  4. The chain is broken and the rights have been withdrawn again. You can now appoint another cargo director or nominate an inland operator yourself.
