Development issue: Multiple releases for a (groupage) container

Scenario:

  • Multiple B/Ls are active for 1 container, a shipping line or agent releases for all B/Ls on 1 container.
    • The Secure Chain is set up for 1 unique release per B/L and container combination.
    • Portbase only sends the first release to the terminal. The other releases are rejected: ‘Duplicate error’.

Roles:

  • Shippling Line / Agent
  • Release-to Party

Services:

  • MLI

Result:

  • Release-to Parties receive a ‘Delivery note’ from the shipping line or agent for all B/L combinations, but only 1 B/L is active with a commercial release within the Secure Chain.

Workaround:

  • The shipping line or agent must remove all unnecessary releases.

Planning solution:

  • Progress varies per shipping line or agent, most shipping companies have a solution for this active. Mid-October 2024.
