This update is about a new data point in the Cargo Controller service. The attentive user will have already seen it. The Expected Discharge Time (EDT) for the cargo via APM Terminals Maasvlakte II (MVII) is now available in Cargo Controller.
What does this mean for you?
As a planner and/or (Customs) forwarder, you can respond proactively to changes at the APM Terminals MVII. This data-element is more accurate than ‘Vessel Departure’ (which is now often used for planning). The result; an optimized flow of containers, less waiting times at the terminal for drivers and efficiency in the port of Rotterdam and the hinterland.
Quality & accuracy of the data
APM has the ambition to make the expected discharge time (ETA) available up to 6 hours in advance* and will be visible to you as a Cargo Controller user for every new B/L that you track where cargo enters the port via the APM Terminals Maasvlakte II (MVII). APM works closely with the port community to make this data available earlier and to increase its accuracy.
* it is an estimate that depends on the vessel planning and it is shown when the carrier is nominated.
If you have any questions, please contact APM Terminals Maasvlakte II.
