For containers within the Secure Chain, carriers have the option to manually adjust the container type (e.g. from 22G1 to 42G1) in the status request or pre-notification. This prevents the need for carriers to be re-nominated by the Cargo Director each time there is a discrepancy between the container type known at the terminal and the one registered with the shipping line.
