How can I modify or delete a pre-notification, e.g. modification of equipment number), booking number or document number?

A pre-notification can be modified or deleted in two situations:

  • By the forwarder who submitted the pre-notification, as long as the cargo has not yet arrived at the terminal.
  • Once the cargo has arrived at the terminal, only the terminal can make changes, and only until the export manifest has been submitted.

First check whether the cargo has arrived at the terminal – to see where you can check this in the service.

The cargo has not yet been received at the terminal

If the cargo has not yet been received at the terminal, you can modify the following details yourself. Instructions how to do this are provided below:

  • Changing document numbers (and adding equipment numbers)
    • Select the document number on the main screen.
    • A new window will open where the changes can be made.

Note: Always fully delete the pre-notification if export cargo has arrived at the terminal and Customs has refused the arrival. Portbase will only send a new arrival notification if the pre-notification is removed in this way.

  • Add a document number and modifying equipment and booking numbers
    • Select the equipment in the main screen.
    • A new window will open where the changes can be made.
  • Deleting the pre-notification
    • Select the document number in the main screen.
    • A new window will open. In the bottom left corner, you’ll find the option to delete the pre-notification.

The cargo has been received at the terminal

Depending on the terminal, changes must be arranged via the terminal or the shipping line.

Portbase Customer Service cannot make any changes to the service once the cargo has been received at the terminal.
