Portbase offers their customers several options of electronic communication to exchange messages between their own in-house system and our Port Community System (PCS).
This guide describes the procedure of pushing and pulling messages via the PCS sFTP interface.
Upload your file to the directory ‘upload/tmp/’. When successfully uploaded; move the file to directory ‘upload/new/’.
After a short while, the file will be picked up by the PCS for distribution and processing and moved to the ‘upload/cur/’directory. After 7 days the file will be automatically deleted.
Why this procedure? First uploading to /tmp and then moving to /new once the upload is completed prevents our system from picking up partial files. Using the /new directory confirms that a file is ready to be picked up; in a similar fashion, moving the file to the /cur directory is our confirmation that your file has been picked up for distribution within Portbase.
Check the directory ‘download/new/’ for new files. Download these files and when finished move them to ‘download/cur/’ or delete them directly. After 7 days the files in ‘download/cur/’ will be automatically deleted.
Why this procedure? Using the /new directory confirms that a file is ready to be picked up and there is no risk of picking up a partial upload. Moving the file to the /cur directory is the confirmation from you that the file has been picked up for distribution/processing.
The /tmp directory is used by Portbase to upload (partial) files and is not intended for customer use.
