You may have noticed, the Expected Discharge Time (EDT) of APM Terminals Maasvlakte II (MVII) is available up to six hours* in advance in Hinterland Container Notification (HCN). You see this data element at the container (handling) level after you have submitted a status request or pre-notification. This development applies to all modalities. Both via the web screen and via the API system link you can see the expected discharge time in the deepsea element of the handling.
What’s new?
In mid-March 2025, APM Terminals MVII started making the expected discharge time available to all hinterland carriers up to six hours* in advance. Previously, this expectation was announced half an hour before discharge. By bringing this forward and announcing the expected discharge time earlier, planners can respond proactively and in a timely manner to changes in the discharge planning at APM Terminal MVII. APM works closely with the port community to make this data available earlier and to increase its accuracy.
* it is an estimate that depends on the vessel planning and it is shown when the carrier is nominated.

What do we ask of you?
Are you using an API-system link? Please contact your software supplier to check whether the correct endpoint is already being called. If you use HCN via the web screens, you do not need to take any action to see the new EDT. If you also want to see the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) and Expected Time of Departure (ETD), you can request these by entering the ship name.
Importance of accurate data
APM Terminals MVII, like Portbase, recognises the importance of accurate data so that carriers can optimise their planning. By announcing the expected unloading time earlier, we are working towards a common goal. Namely; an optimised flow of containers, reduced waiting times at the terminal for drivers and increased efficiency in the port of Rotterdam and the hinterland.
