Securely connecting to Portbase: migrate your sFTP system link before 1 December 2025
Portbase is renewing the way customers use a system connection via sFTP.
This update is part of the broader project ‘Securely Connecting to Portbase’, through which we are working towards a more secure and user-friendly technical approach.
Important: complete your migration before 1 December 2025. After this date, existing connections will be deactivated.
To ensure a smooth transition, make sure the following steps are completed before 1 December 2025:
- Your technical administrator must create an IAMconnected account and link it to your organisation.
- This person must be assigned to the user group ‘System Links’ in the Port Community System (PCS).
- Once these steps are completed, the technical administrator can independently start the migration in the new portal. This includes switching to the new endpoint and setting up the SSH key — a process that can be carried out step by step. View the full migration guide
Is your connection with Portbase managed by another party?
If your sFTP connection with Portbase is managed by a third party, you can authorise this party to act on your behalf via IAMconnected.

What does ‘Securely connecting to Portbase’ entail?
We are modernising the way of linking by introducing the system links portal. Thanks to authenticated access, you are now in control of your connections and changes – in a controlled and secure way.
Why this change?
With this project, we are laying the foundations for a future-proof and secure coupling infrastructure. By working with verified identities and self-service, from now on you can manage your links yourself – without Portbase’s intervention.
When will this come into play?
The system links portal is now available. Make sure you give the right people access so they can manage the connection or, if necessary, migrate it. You have until 1 December 2025 to perform the migration. After that, non-migrated connections will be closed
What are the steps involved in the migration?
The necessary steps can be found in the Quick Start Guide.
We also have other links to Portbase, such as email or AS2. Do these also need to be adapted?
Yes. In a next phase (phase 2), AS2 links will also be adapted. Now, in phase 1, the focus is on sFTP. E-mail does not need to be adapted at the moment. Your configured e-mail addresses will remain available in the portal. However, the sender address will change later from @portinfolink.com to @portbase.com.
Does this also apply to API links with Portbase?
No, this project deals only with sFTP (client and server), AS2 and e-mail links.
How do I stay informed?
Everyone with access to the system links portal will receive e-mail updates on new developments.
Our links are managed by another organisation. How does that work?
Do you manage an sFTP connection yourself, but it is technically performed by an external party? Then you can authorise that party to manage your connection(s). Employees of this party no longer need to connect to your organisation via IAMconnected.
We have no system links with Portbase. So why do I see this portal?
The system links portal is a standard service, just like user management. Therefore, it is visible to master and user administrators.

What happens if I do nothing?
If you don’t migrate, your link will eventually stop working. So make sure you migrate before 1 December 2025.
I do not have a link to Portbase myself, but work via supplier X’s software. Do I have to do anything?
No. Your supplier takes care of the migration for its own links. You do not have to do anything.
I am a software supplier. What do I need to do?
All instructions for managing the links for your customers can be found in the Quick Start Guides. Your employees no longer need to connect to the customer organisation via IAMconnected.
Can I first test this migration in a non-production environment?
Yes. With an account on the customer test environment (KT), you can test all steps. Please contact our integration specialists for this at integration@portbase.com.
I am a software supplier. What do I need to do to manage my customers’ system interfaces?

How do I create a new organization?
When creating a new organization, select the Organization Type: Software Supplier.
Once approved, your organization will have the correct permissions to manage authorized system interfaces.
I already have an IAMconnected account and organization. How do I check if I’m registered as a Software Supplier, and how can I request a change?
You can find your organization type(s) in IAMconnected via: Organization Management – your organization – Reference data – Organization types

How do I manage system interfaces for my customers as an organization?
Authorized system interfaces are managed in the SSIM portal: Shared System Interfaces Manager. You can launch this service from the Services overview in IAMconnected.

Access to this portal is granted when your organization is registered as a Software Supplier in IAMconnected and your employees have been assigned the role Shared System Interfaces Manager (Software Supplier).
How do I give my employees access to system interfaces?
System interfaces are managed in the SSIM portal. To grant employees access to this portal, they must:
- Create an individual IAMconnected account and link it to your organization
- Request the role Shared System Interfaces Manager (Software Supplier), which must be approved by your IAMconnected main or user administrator
