Introduction Quick Start Guide 'Navigating the PCS'

This Quick Start Guide tells you where to find what. Step by step we guide you through the general functionalities within the Port Community System (PCS).

You go to the PCS via www.pcs.portbase.com. Enter the login details that you have received through the Portbase Service Desk.

1Block 'My services'

Block 'My services'

The block ‘My services’ shows all services to which you have subscribed.

2Block 'Customer Service'

Block 'Customer Service'

The block ‘Customer Service’ displays notifications from the Customer Service about:

  • Malfunctions
  • Maintenance activities
  • Delays
  • New functionalities

These notifications will concern the services to which you have subscribed.

3Block 'Portbase news'

Block 'Portbase news'

The block ‘Portbase news’ displays news updates from Portbase.

4Block 'My profile'

Block 'My profile'

The block ‘My profile’:

  • Use ‘Notification settings’ to indicate which notifications you wish to receive for the services to which you have subscribed. For some services you can find the notification settings under ‘notification management’. In the quick start guide from each service you can read in which sub menu you can set the notifications.
  • Under ‘Notifications’ it is possible to open an overview of notifications you have received during a certain period
  • Under ‘Change password’ you can change your password
  • Under ‘Instruction booklets’ the most recent instruction booklets are available for the services to which you have subscribed. Back-up procedures for the services relating to various authorities, such as Customs, port authorities or the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA), can also be found here.
  • Under ‘Notification Management’ you can indicate which notifications you would wish to receive for the services you have subscribed. This is an addition to the menu ‘Notification settings’. In the quick start guide from each service you can read in which sub menu you can set the notifications.

Block 'My downloads'

In the block ‘My downloads’, templates are available to help you upload information to the services to which you have subscribed (not applicable to all services).

In the block ‘Contact’, the Portbase Customer Service contact information is listed.
