AAX message replaces the current ARX message (Arrival at Exit)

3 July 2023 | Notification of Arrival Export Containers

The process of Exiting from the EU is changing with the introduction of the AES (Automated Export System). This system replaces the current ECS (Export Control System). This is a consequence of the introduction of the Union Customs Code (UCC) in 2016. To comply with AES requirements, EU member states are obligated to implement the UCC changes. In the AES, the arrival message is reported with an AAX message. If you would like to know more about the introduction of AES, please check the customs site (in Dutch).

The new AAX message replaces the current ARX message, used to report the arrival of goods to the customs office of exit. Portbase is working in the background to implement the technical changes towards Customs. We have already recently applied and extensively tested this with a number of clients. As this is solely a technical change, no action is required from you.

On the 4th of July this change will go live. From then on, you will send the new AAX message towards the new AES from Customs.
