Instruction for ECT Remote Check-In

Logging in and pre-notification

Navigate to Hinterland Container Notification Road to prenotify a handling to ECT. Follow these steps to launch the service.

You then submit a prenotification in the usual way via the web screens or via your own link. See here for a guide on how to submit a prenotification via the web screens.

Status information

Based on the specified ETA, you will immediately receive a TAR code from ECT.

You will also have direct insight into the status of the container thanks to the status icons.

Combining containers within one visit

The linking/unlinking of containers takes place in the usual way. Follow this guide if you want to handle several containers in a single ECT/EMX visit.

Remain on Truck

ECT requires containers that remain on the truck during the ECT visit, so-called Remain on Truck containers, to be pre-entered in HCN.

This can be done in two ways:

1. Have your software supplier automate the Remain on Truck notification.
2. Manually add the Remain on Truck container in HCN.

Follow the steps below to manually add the Remain on Truck container in HCN.

• Click on ‘Actions’ to the right of the visit to ECT that you want to add a Remain on Truck container to.
• Click on ‘Add ‘Remain on Truck’ container’.
• In the pop-up, enter the container number of the container you want to add to the visit as a Remain on Truck container.
• Click on ‘Save’.

The container has now been added to the visit to ECT as a Remain on Truck container. The image below shows an example. Please ensure that the correct ETAs are entered in connection with the order of the visits.

Executing charter

When the RCI code is used at the gate, ECT will also verify if the organisation’s EAN number reported in the preliminary notification matches the EAN number on the driver’s cargo card.

Note: if the driver’s cargo card belongs to a temping agency, the preliminary notification in MCA Road should state the temping agency as the executing charter.

You can fill the executing charter or executing inland operator field via the MCA web view. You can also fill in the field through an API connection. Contact your software provider to establish this connection.

The executing charter can also be adjusted after submission of the preliminary notification. Follow the steps below to edit a handling:

• Click on ‘Details’, to the right of the handling you would like to edit.
• Then, click the ‘Edit’ button in the top right corner of the dashboard. In the subsequent view, you can edit the handling’s details, such as container number, acceptance reference, carrier, etc.).
